Best Range Ammo For Practicing And What To Avoid (glock 34)? I Bought Different Brands Today To See How They Perform. From Left To Right: Fiocchi, Maxx Tech, Bronze, Blazer, And Winchester
Defense magazine European Security & Defense has published an article detailing for the first time how the Glock machine gun and its cartridges are introduced to federal government machinery. The article - part technical, part interview - details the recent introduction of Glock's MHS, the technical features of the Glock 19 MHS and MHS 23 pistols, and the feeling among Glock executives about their second position in the competition. I recommend our readers visit the ES&D website, where they can read the entire article in text-only or PDF format for free. But, since I don't want to bury the lid any further than I already did, here's what the head of global sales, Richard Flür, had to say about the future of the Glock MHS beyond the US military:
ESD: Will there be a pistol version of the Glock Modular Hand System for the commercial market? Flür: Yes. We think this is a good gun and we want to give all interested people the opportunity to try and buy it. All costs associated with the development of the Glock pistol are covered by the money, so the gun itself can also be advertised. In fact, we can use the skills gained by completing this project. Certain things will definitely be revealed in future Glock models.
The Federal Enhanced Barrier Round is also nothing interesting. Vista Foreign/Federal appears to be leveraging its M855A1 cartridge manufacturing expertise through Lake City. The new EBR 9mm round uses the same type of construction, with a strong steel center and a copper jacket with, especially for US military rounds, expansion or cutting directly into the jacket material. While this round is probably related to recent American ammunition developments, it is hard to miss its resemblance to the Russian 9x19mm pistol cartridge, which has a similar construction.
